Cortland and Department for Business & Trade Partner to Host Industry Roundtable

LONDON (Sept. 2023) – Build-to-Rent (BTR) real estate investment, development, and management company Cortland has worked with the Department for Business and Trade to convene a roundtable for leaders in the UK BTR sector.

The insightful discussion was focused on the role that BTR can play as part of the government’s levelling up agenda to create thriving future cities.

The roundtable was chaired by Lord Dominic Johnson at the Department for Business and Trade in the historic Old Admiralty Building in London and was attended by investors, owners, and operators of Build-to-Rent (BTR) homes in the UK.

Lord Dominic Johnson, Minister for State, Department for Business and Trade, said: "Real estate is a huge magnet for inward investment into the UK - supporting thousands of jobs in the property, construction and services industries.

"It also plays a central role in levelling up - as we strive to attract investment into towns and cities across the UK, it's crucial to have the necessary housing and infrastructure that enables them to grow."

Victoria Quinlan, President of Cortland Europe, said: “Driving investment into the BTR asset class is core to increasing the supply of much-needed housing in the UK. Today’s roundtable was a great opportunity to look at how the industry can work in partnership with the government to deliver better quality rental homes for residents where they’re needed.”
